The idea in full
In suspected acute coronary syndrome the nurse acts on the suspicion rather than waiting for proof — obtaining a 12-lead ECG immediately and having it interpreted, starting continuous cardiac monitoring, and giving aspirin and anti-ischemic therapy under protocol — because infarction is confirmed by the ECG pattern together with a rising and falling cardiac troponin, not by the severity of the pain.
